Image converters that tell you what the conversion cost

Images, 18 tools.

Every format conversion is a trade and most converters hide it. Transparency has to become some solid background when a PNG becomes a JPG, and a converter that does not ask makes it black. A JPG rewrapped as a PNG gets larger and no sharper, because nothing lost can come back. These tools make the trade a control you set, and report the result per file so you can see what you actually got.

Batch renamerRename files as a previewable validated plan: dry-run by default, two-phase cycle-safe apply, undo journal.Catalog generatorGenerate a catalog/price-sheet as data-driven output from a CSV (the data is the source of truth).Contact sheetLay a set of images out as a print artifact: paper size at a chosen resolution, captioned frames, pages numbered and spilled automatically, every page on screen before it is written.Dupe finderFingerprint images locally, group every near-copy beside the keeper the stated rule chose, decide which copies to discard, and leave with a written receipt. Nothing is uploaded and nothing is deleted.Favicon GeneratorTurn one local raster source into a bounded favicon and PWA launch package with ordinary and maskable icons, ICO, manifest, install snippet, context review, ZIP, and versioned receipt. Publishing, crawler access, search appearance, real PWA installation, and exact platform rendering are outside scope.Gallery exportTurn a folder of images into a small static site you own, shown running in the page before it is downloaded: thumbnails, captions and a working lightbox in plain HTML, CSS and JavaScript.Image levelsApply a reproducible, versionable JSON tone recipe (levels/curves) to images in batch.Image OptimizerApply one explicit local recipe to a bounded batch, review selected source and re-encoded output pixels and bytes, verify realized MIME and dimensions, and export an itemized receipt. Best-codec automation, target-byte search, perceptual scoring, cross-engine byte identity, HDR, and metadata preservation are outside scope.Image resizerResize images under an explicit fit rule (contain/cover/pad/stretch) with exact before/after geometry reported.Palette extractorExtract an image's dominant colours as paste-ready code, each carrying the share of the picture it actually covers rather than the population of the box a quantizer cut. Selecting a colour paints the pixels the share counted, from the same assignment, so the number can be checked against the image. Colour is read in sRGB so the hex matches what a stylesheet paints.WatermarkerBatch-watermark images with text or a logo sized relative to each image, anchored on a 9-point grid or tiled.Extract images from CanvaGet every image out of a Canva design at full resolution, with where each one sat.Image converterA mixed pile of formats in and one format out, with every file's real type read from its own bytes.HEIC to JPGiPhone photographs opened by a decoder that ships with the page, in browsers that cannot open them at all.PNG to JPGTransparency has to go somewhere, so the colour it becomes is a control rather than a surprise.JPG to PNGA rewrap into a lossless container that will not restore anything the JPG already lost.WebP to PNGThe escape route for a file saved off a web page that local software refuses to open.Image to WebPA size decision rather than a format decision, with the saving against the original shown per file.
